Before placing a detergent or surfactant on the market:
- Check that the detergent or surfactant is accompanied by the required documents and a label that meets the requirements of the Regulation.
- Check that the detergent or surfactant is CE marked.
- Check that the manufacturer has complied with the requirements (product passport, data carrier, CE marking, product entry in the product register)
When do the obligations of manufacturers apply to importers and distributors?
- If an importer or distributor places a detergent or surfactant on the market under his own name, brand or modifies a detergent or surfactant in such a way that it is already a different product.
If the importer or distributor packages/repackages the detergent or surfactant, he shall have the following obligations:
- Ensure that the packaging bears his name, registered trade name or registered trademark, address, preceded by the words ‘packed by’ or ‘repacked by’.
- Ensure compliance with CE marking, labelling requirements (including digital labelling).
- Keep a reference to the unique product identifier for 10 years after the detergent or surfactant has been placed on the market.
